The Biometria add more papiNet integrations as it launches new IT system

Since many years customers of Biometria, the major Swedish provider of timber measuring services, can benefit from XML formatted documents complying with the globally recognized papiNet standard adapted for the forest wood supply industry.

In 2025 Biometria amended its comprehensive set of papiNet integrations for customers within the Forest Wood supply chain as it launched the new IT system VIOL 3. Customers and IT partners already running papiNet integrations, can hence benefit from more business integrations using the familiar papiNet standard.

There are currently 35 various papiNet integrations on offer by Biometria. Its customers may choose electronic papiNet documents for Contracts, Order Confirmations, Delivery Sources, Load Tenders, Delivery Instructions, Delivery Messages, Shipment Statuses, Measuring Instructions, Measuring Tickets, Reception Tickets, Arrival Tickets, Invoice Specifications, Service Instructions, Proforma Invoices and Master Data. By using the same industry standard for all 35 integrations, the implementation costs for customers can be reduced as their IT resources need not learn different formats for each integration and it is typically less costly to maintain fewer formats. These integrations are not provided in other formats.

Approximately 500 plants in Sweden – sawmills, pulp mills and biomass heating plants – and wood terminals are connected to Biometria.

Swedish pulp mills, sawmills, heating plants and power plants can leverage the papiNet standard for both inbound forest wood supply and outbound paper, pulp, packaging and wood products, thus enabling fewer formats for their data integration with business partners.

As Biometria is a key player in providing information to forest wood supply chain in Sweden, its new IT system VIOL 3 issues some 30 million papiNet documents every month to its business partners.
